Writing …

Write 200 words per day and within a year you will have enough words to create a book. As long as they are the right words and in the right order!

Encouraged by many, I have completed writing my own book, a memoir, to share the experiences, successes and failures that we as a family have lived through as we navigate this road with a child with additional needs.

My second book, a work of fiction is reaching its completion and I look forward to it being published in 2025.

“What if the mind, tormented by pain, could travel to a place of healing and light? And what if that place was under threat?”

When Theo Sullivan’s seizures leave him unconscious, he wakes in a world of snow-covered lanes, candlelit chapels, and beings who seem to know him intimately. Here, in a realm beyond life, he learns that his journey is not yet over. As darkness encroaches and a loved one’s soul hangs in the balance, Theo must summon a courage he never knew he had.

Inspired by a father’s own questions about his son’s suffering, Strange Conflicts weaves a heartfelt, thought-provoking tale of resilience, love, and the eternal battle between light and shadow.

“This touching memoir will take you to the raw reality of a world that seems to be too indifferent, and the incredible strength it takes to turn despair into hope. As you go through these pages, find how the dedication of one father has defied grim expectations to forge an extraordinary life for his son. Marc’s Garden will share the redemptive power of hope and the unshakeable spirit of parenthood.”

“Experience both the heart-breaking and inspiring tale of Marc’s Garden, where this astonishing fatherly love becomes a beacon through the darkest of hours. His son, Marc, is born with severe epilepsy and is later diagnosed with autism. The doctors offer a serious prediction; Marc may not live beyond his childhood years. Struggling with devastating isolation and societal misunderstandings, he fights some overwhelming medical battles all alone.

Autism Spectrum Reach is a non-profit organisation whose purpose is to improve the lives of autistic children around the globe.

My writing has been used to help support this organisation with articles and posts on their internet sites.

They declare “We are building an international platform where anyone can access free, high-quality training, research, and insights about autism in their native language”

My experiences written to illustrate how living with autism is both rewarding as it is challenging.

National Autistic Society publish a quarterly magazine called Your Autism. This magazine published up to date law changes, services and information to help support their members.

A section of this magazine is titled Readers to the Rescue where readers can ask a question specific to them, of the wider reading audience. I have been privileged to have several responses published as I offer our experiences as a family living with autism to help with that question.

An early published article of mine, writing about Lean and Kaizen work methods appeared in the book Lean Supply Chain & Logistics Management by Paul Myerson.

In the workplace my applied methods of working improved processes and productivity, enhancing the quality of service delivery.

The improvements were recognised by the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) and I received an award on behalf of the organisation.
