In a world where prejudice, discrimination and dismissive attitudes are growing, it saddens my heart that real understanding of disability and those needing additional help is being lost.
It is said that every person is only six relationships away from knowing anyone else. If that is so, I would like the six people who know me to connect with their contacts and to reach the country’s and the world’s decision-makers, urging them to read my book. I believe it would give them a perspective on caring for people that they do not understand.
I also urge those who, like me, care for a person with additional needs to share their stories. We must create real and accurate awareness and only then, might we get understanding, acceptance and inclusion.
